Just finished my dive trip with these people... I stay there for 5 days and 4 nights ... And it's just awesome ... Nice beach, nice cottage, hammock everywhere, nice service ... And good foods too... One of the best place to enjoy the sunset... Also do couple of dives.... Great coral, a lot of schooling fishes.... Small and beautiful critters.... Thank you for the hospitality for all of the staff espeacially for geertje for provided us everything we need ...

To discover this hidden treasure was the highlight to our Sulawesi trip! Altho we live in Nth Bali n have some great dive spots close by we were most impressed by not only the pristine sea n 25+ dive spots n the care n knowledge of both Captain n dive Master. Lovely comfy wooden bungalows with plenty of places to relax whilst they created a banquet in the kitchen.(cos diving sure makes one hungry!) Which was served under the stars by the friendly staff. Impressively clean with attention to details. I will definately return!!

i spend some amazing weeks at yoga island. Getting my padi open water was no problem, most days where spent in the crystal clear water. the evenings we spent either playing games with the local kids or staring from a hammock in to the bay while the fisherman are going home with the soft sounds of the water and the ketinktinks.

Staying in Sampela

With great difficulty we left Sampela after 8 days of what must have been the most incredible experience! We couldn't have wished for a better host in the form of Pondang and his family, who took great care of us, not least in the form of the amazing food with all the fresh fish we got to eat and snorkelling and fishing trips we made! We recommend staying in Sampela to anyone who wants to get a better understanding of the Bajau Laut, experience their way of life whilst also having the sanctuary of your own little house. If you are counting on luxurious accommodation - don't go, but if you yearn for an unusual and fascinating cultural experience - you won't regret it (just make sure to bring your underwater camera!). You can go on many different snorkelling or diving trips, watch the locals fishing, play with the energetic children from the village or just read a book in the hammock which is on terrace of the house! Geertje couldn't have been more helpful in the organization of everything from airport pick-up to accommodation. We thoroughly recommend it!!

I am still floating after a week at Hoga Island Dive Resort. If you are looking for a serene, genuine, unpretentious place with wonderful food, clean cottages, and the most amazing sunsets and night sky, look no further! Geertje, Wia, and company are simply one of the warmest groups of people to spend time with. They are attentive and will help you with what you need. Delicious meals are eaten together, like a big, happy, and chatty family. The numerous dive sites are so close and full of life…you will not be disappointed. Countless types of fish, morays, turtles, nudibranch... As a novice diver, I felt both safe and intrigued! Although I missed this particular dive, they even saw a large whale somewhere near the outer pinnacle. My first afternoon snorkeling, I saw large rays (not sure which kind!) jumping out of the water, just as the sun was descending. Magical! If you get tired of reading in your hammock, diving, or snorkeling, take a guided walk through the forest to the other side or you can also visit the local sea gypsies (Bajau) in Sampela, which will provide some cultural perspectives. I highly recommend this place! (Perhaps bring some snacks if you tend to get hungry between meals, as there’s not many options there.)

That a stay as we dream some times.Little isolated island but not too much , access to which is earned but not too much , bungalows lost in the greenery and overlooking the sea and beautiful sunsets ( prefer bungalows in first line). A rustic comfort but not too much, a refreshing silence. All was good, reception, breakfasts, food , smile, meetings, dive sites, just the perfect site and snorkeling. It was just perfect. thank you to all the staff .

A perfect little private beach with hammocks just everywhere in the right places and the most friendly staff. A wonderful place and who says that diving in Wakatobi has to be expensive. This place offers a good price for basic but great accommodation, delicious food and nice diving. The coral around the area are incredible and some of the most diverse I have ever seen.
